Nathan planned this entire trip to Austin for our 1 year anniversary. We stayed at the South Congress Hotel which was so amazing. The hotel is super eclectic and totally gives you the whole “Austin” vibe. We ate at several of Austin’s top rated restaurants, which we highly recommend Magnolia Cafe & South Congress Cafe for breakfast and brunch. For lunch, Guero’s Taco Bar for the best ritas and fajitas in town, or Hopdoddy if you’re feeling burgers and a nutella & pretzel milkshake (yea.. that’s a real thing). For a late night dinner we went to Searsucker which was a little more pricey and upscale but totally worth it. If you go, you have to try the duck fat fries, trust us! Besides stuffing our faces with delicious food, we also walked up and down South Congress Street and visited a ton of cool little stores and antique shops. The great thing about our hotel was how much we were surrounded by.
On our last day there we took a drive to Fredericksburg, Texas to visit a couple wineries. Surprisingly Texas has some of the United States top rated wineries. We stopped at Becker Vineyard first for a tasting and had an amazing experience. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the different kinds of wine and blends. Our next stop was about 10 minutes up the road at Kuhlman Cellars. Nathan and I were able to get a last minute reservation for a wine and food pairing within 20 minutes of leaving Becker, talk about luck! The pairing was one of the coolest experiences. They gave us 6 bite sized gourmet appetizers to pair with 6 different wine tastings, it was so amazing and unlike anything we had ever tried. If you’re interested in taking a trip to Austin, we both highly recommend all the places linked and listed. If you try any of them out we’d love it if you’d comment and let us know how you liked it.
Hey everyone, if you’re like me and have been up for hours on www.morphebrushes.com hitting refresh about a million times, well I’m here to help! Try using the web browser Firefox. It took me about 10 – 15 minutes to get through, but I was finally able to place my order and I did receive a confirmation email as well. Also make sure to add her 10% off coupon code which is JACATTACK. Best of luck to you all and hope you are able to snag one! 🙂
*** Update: 3/17/15 ***
I have heard that if you live in California, you can purchase the Jaclyn Hill palette in the Morphe Brushes store, while supplies last. Still not sure when it will be available online, but if I find out more information I will be sure to add another update! 🙂
So I by no means have flawless skin, but I have found some products that help me achieve this so called ‘flawless face’ that every girl desires to have. As you can see the foundations are from the drugstore and in my opinion work just as well if not better than high end products I’ve tried in the past, and not to mention they’re half the price! I’ve tried every brand from Esteè Lauder, Lancome, Dior, MAC, Clinique… the list goes on and on, but none hold up to the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation! I use the Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki brush to apply it and it’s a match made in heaven. It gives the perfect coverage without feeling “cakey” and as crazy as it sounds the foundation looks better on the skin as the day goes on. I have issues with large pores and a few acne scars on my face, and this covers it perfectly while still looking like skin and not layers of makeup on my face. I also have oily skin so I must set this with a powder and my new favorite is the L’Oreal True Match Mineral Pressed Powder. It’s helps set my foundation in place and it doesn’t give that awful white, chalky cast over your face like a lot of other drugstore powders. After I apply the rest of my eye makeup, blush, and bronzer I finish it off with the Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray. It’s great for oily skin and helps keep your makeup looking fresh all day long, like you just applied it. For example, I can apply my makeup in the morning and not have to touch up at all for at least 8-10 hours! Urban Decay has several different types of makeup setting sprays to fit all skin types, I would recommend trying a sample size at Ulta or Sephora to see which one you like best. Listed below are links where you can find all the products mentioned.
