I always love trying new beauty products, and as of lately I’ve been really into BB and CC creams. I feel like they’re much lighter and great for a quick everyday makeup look. I’ve heard a lot of great things about the It Cosmetics CC Creams, so I knew I had to give it a try.
They have two different ones to choose from, the original Your Skin But Better CC Cream with 8 different shades, as well the Illumination cream with 6 different shades. Both CC creams claim to be full coverage, color correcting, anti-againg, and contain 50+ SPF. I feel like depending on how you apply you can create your desired coverage.
I’m typically a matte finish kind of girl, so trying something illuminating with shimmer in it was definitely out of my comfort zone but I’m so glad I did because it has quickly became a new favorite of mine!
The first day I applied it using the Real Techniques Expert Face brush, which sheered it out for a more natural finish with light to medium coverage.
The second day I applied the CC cream using a Real Techniques makeup sponge and it gave a more medium to full coverage look.
Since I mentioned I mainly use matte products and my skin type is combination, I had to set it with a powder. I have gone back and forth between the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Pressed Powder, as well as the Laura Mercier Translucent powder and both work perfectly for setting it in place and not making me too shiny!
My first impression is that it gives a beautiful glow and provides the coverage of a foundation but the lightweight feeling of a CC cream. I’m kind of loving the shimmer it has and the SPF is an added bonus as well. My favorite way to apply lately has been with a brush just because it gives me enough coverage to cover up an blemishes or spots, yet it still gives a natural looking finish. I would highly recommend you try one of them if you’re looking to try something new! If you’re not sure which one, stop by Sephora to get color matched and get a free sample of each one to try before buying.
